Found Paintings I found these paintings on walls and unlikely places. All made by default, they read like abstract art, with meaningful gestures and marks.

Class of Yesterday I collected these old school photos in Prague a decade ago. They hang in my home where I often study the faces, feeling I know something of these unknowable people.

Construction Thoughts we build up create inner space And even if we know it’s all a construct Constantly reformed, reimagined A series of illusions Layers of choices As solid as stone Is it fixed Are we fixed Can we alter how we are formed Those hallmarks, fissures in our nature Once in a while rupturing the edges, boundaries Voices, memories echo, but something beautiful Something inside of us chooses, chooses to be there Something elusive: sparkling or signalling, shifting in and out Of harmony, in and out of dissonance, beauty and dysmorphia

The Future Past Tense Science indicates that time may not be absolute; poetry and philosophy remind that time is an idea, and our own experience shows us time is malleable. The camera reveals the nature of the drawings - the metallic, tarry presence of the graphite, the leaden, shiny sheen and the black entity of the darkness. Shadows and lights, contrast and lines, implied movement. That is all drawing is really. The Future Past Tense moves through ideas, shifting through surface to image, through layers of what drawing suggests, collecting shades of inner activity, seducing and disrupting the eye simultaneously.

Personification Perhaps we are as shadows, or clusters of molecules comprising form, apparently moving and having something to do with each other. Streaming humanity, shades of substance, in effect more alike than we are different.

Seep Time erases the boundaries of our selves, our bodies, and there is a letting of the person, a haemorrhaging, as we absorb the flow of tidal, cyclical, everyday experiences. Time seeps into our lives, as we seep into the overlaying membranes of our selves.

Moment The life of a building is not in its stones, but within the elemental. Souls passed here, footsteps walking through time, as we do, leaving traces of our intention. Who is to say that what happens in a moment, the flicker of a candle flame, is not eternal.

Equilibrium Forces that drive us can feel compelling but unresolvable. Nature shifts within; feelings gather in density, or evaporate like cloud formations. We experience layers of influences, sometimes in opposition to each other, even contrary to will and desire. Yet we press on in life, as people have to. Amidst the constantly changing weather of the mind, some inner threshold processes opposing forces, reaching a shifting equilibrium.

Volume The mass of human knowledge flows like a wave passing through this world in solid form. This stream of ideas is unknowable in its entirety, as if comprising a shared mind. Fleetingly graspable, each voice and thought is bound in time, as ephemeral as their authors'  lives.

Transition Streams of people pass by, pass each other, casting shadows and reflections -  the merest layer of presence. Amongst the multitude, what may be inferred, what read, about a person, about humanity.
